About this place
Standing on a neighborhood corner in Horifune, Kita Ward, Kitamura is a soba eatery with an unpretentious, traditional presence that has long anchored local mealtimes. The dining area offers table seating alongside raised tatami seating toward the back, accommodating quick solo lunches as comfortably as relaxed meals where you can stretch your legs.
Among the hot noodle selections, the curry nanban stands out. Piping-hot curry broth merges seamlessly with sweet soba tsuyu, producing a pleasant thickness that clings to the noodles. While it finishes clean on the palate, it leaves a satisfying impression, letting you savor the gentle, dashi-rich warmth from start to finish.
For diners arriving with a hearty appetite, the generous set menus are an easy choice. Classic rice bowls such as tenju (tempura over rice) and katsuju (breaded cutlet over rice) share the menu with broader combinations like hamburg steak, simmered beef offal (motsu nikomi), and kalbi sets. Each meal can be customized with your choice of hot or cold soba or udon, and comes complete with miso soup, salad, and pickles, spreading an abundant feast across the table.
The noodle roster reaches beyond staple seiro and tempura soba to include ramen options such as tanmen and miso ramen, giving you the freedom to pick whatever suits your mood. With beer and other drinks on offer, it also works well for a casual evening meal, lingering over a bowl of simmered motsu.
